Loved loved this awesome family! This beautiful girl was perfect for her Los Angeles newborn photography session with us! We were able to capture so many great shots of this beauty. On top of that, big brother was so proud of his new sister and was one of the best siblings we’ve ever had in a newborn session!
A word about our sibling shots……..we normally do all sibling and family shots towards the beginning of the session; we like to spend about 45 minutes with newborn baby first. Sometimes parents bring everyone at once, and sibling waits for their turn, or sometimes dad/grandparent brings sibling a little closer to when we will be able to take their shots. Parents can decide which is easier for their family. We also ask that someone is available to leave with siblings once their shots are done. We like to remind parents that we always try to capture great sibling shots, but at the end of the day it will really depend on what they are game for. We have had a rough go with some siblings to be honest- with siblings wanting nothing to do with baby or not wanting to be photographed at all- lol! The most difficult sibling age is two years and under. We always say it can go three ways…..a complete failure (has happened), a few just OK shots (most of the time), or an amazing shot (extremely rare). So we just like to mention that it can be a 50/50 chance with the sibling shots. We try for about 30 minutes, and if they aren’t having it we move on, as we don’t like to take too much time away from the baby only shots. We also like to stress that siblings shots are great when they work, but they are really not the focus of our newborn sessions. Young siblings are a complete unknown- and there is definitely a possibility that we will only get a few shots, or even none at all.
BUT this big brother was amazing! He was so much fun and easy going that we were even able to capture some great shots of just him, as well! His loving parents were so excited about these- almost like two sessions in one!
