Best Newborn Baby Photography

We welcomed this beautiful family back to our newborn photography studio in Los Angeles with the arrival of baby #2. Sweet baby girl has joined the family and they are just head over heels in love with her. When mom contacted me again saying she was expecting, Matt and I were just thrilled for them and could not wait to capture their growing family. This would be our fourth photo session with them after all! Big brother came for his newborn photography session, his sitting up milestone photo shoot and his one year cake smash. Documenting his first year and seeing them so often brought joy to our hearts. Now, enter sweet Baby T. Isn’t she the cutest little bean you ever did see? Her peach perfect skin and button nose, she had me at hello! This newborn photo shoot took place when she was just 13 days old. Capturing babies under two weeks old is always our goal, as this is when newborns are most sleepy. Prior to this Los Angeles baby photography session, Mom indicated her color and prop preferences on the pre-session questionnaire. Lots of bare baby poses with creams and pinks! Family photos and pictures of baby with sibling were top priority, as well. Here a are a few favorites from this beautiful baby girl photo shoot! Enjoy! xo, Jess

At the start of this baby girl’s photo shoot, we captured all those soft and sweet simple poses. I love this textured cream fabric that we use. It has a bit of a lace texture to it and pairs beautifully back to her sweet pink bow headband. The over the shoulder angle is one of the top picks by parents!

Following mom’s request for soft pink and cream, we played with a few different headbands. Also, added a soft gauze wrap to complete the look!

Gently moving baby girl into a different bare baby pose came next. This was the sleepiest baby girl ever! Posing her into these adorable newborn positions was a breeze. This grey and white floral headband was custom made for our newborn photography studio. A perfect match back to this soft angora knit wrap!

This all cream basket look is one of our favorite newborn set ups to photograph prior to sibling shots. Once we get baby nestled in this prop, we capture baby first. Then we bring in sibling. I love all the texture in this and that little pillow is just too cute! She was so happy to be snuggly swaddled in one of my all time favorite knit wraps. It’s 100% cashmere and the perfect shade of cream.

Finally it was big brother’s turn to join in the photo shoot fun! He was the SWEETEST ever!! Loving on his big sister and just SO engaging! What a happy camper he was. Look at the beautiful smile! Newborn safety is a huge priority to us, especially when it comes to sibling photos. This is why our first set up with siblings is always with baby safely in a prop. I am always right next to them, just outside the shot.

This sweet guy gave his new baby sister so many kisses! He also gave us so many adorable expressions. So soft with her and so curious, too. There were just too many awesome shots to choose from!

If and only if we feel that siblings can be still and quiet enough to lay down next to baby, will we try to capture this shot. Often young siblings are too wiggly or unpredictable for this shot. Especially three years old and under. But when we can capture it, parents love!

Next it was mom’s turn to be photographed with her gorgeous baby girl. Matching in soft cream with floral accents, they are just stunning together! We are absolutely in love with this shot. Baby girl’s headband was switched to a super light pink floral. Mom is wearing one of many tops we have available here at the studio! This style is one of the top picks among moms!

Sitting for their first family portrait as a family of FOUR! Love this family so so much. Look at sweet big brother. We were playing peek-a-boo, him and I. I kept peeking around the big huge studio light and he was cracking up. 🙂 All these adorable expressions he was making. Kissing baby sister’s head, his look of wonderment, joking around covering his face. These pictures are priceless!

Last in the family pictures is Daddy and his new baby girl. He gets an A+ from us for the sweet tender moment he brought to this infant photography shoot! Capturing a moment in time when his newborn girl fits in the palms of his hands will be one to remember forever. I’m so glad we captured it for them!

The photography shoot ended with one last set up using our wood newborn baby bed. Swaddled in our latest soft pink cashmere wrap and matching blanket. We played around with one of our little teddy bear props too! Pink and gray compliment each other so well. Mixed in with a vintage, distressed white floor. So pretty!

Ending this blog post with my personal favorite! The wood floor gives such a rich, rustic look to this image. After all, who doesn’t love a baby girl cuddling her little teddy?! 🙂
