Photography Session

Beautiful little Ella came in to see us for her Los Angeles one year cake smash photography session!  Her mommy was just the most loving, energetic and happy person we’ve ever met!  Even when her sweet gal wasn’t so sure about this whole “photography” thing, mommy just rolled with it and kept it super positive!  We appreciate that kind of positivity SO much!  At the beginning of their one year cake smash session, mommy picked out a few of her favorites from our gorgeous collection of handmade outfits we have here in the studio.  She was LOVING (as was I!) our newest custom designed vintage lace front bloomer pant romper that had just arrived the day before!  We also used one of my favorite handmade knitted marled yarn romper.  The color is so subtle and cozy in feeling.  We got lots of beautiful shots of Ella at the beginning of her photography session, but when the cake came out, she wasn’t too sure about it!

It’s so funny because even when babies come to see us and aren’t too sure about being photographed, parents might worry about not getting any shots during their photo session.  There might be a few tears here and there (especially during one year cake smash sessions it seems!) but we always get beautiful shots.  Crying baby shots in front of the cake can be typical of that age- and that’s what we aim to capture.  Who your baby is at exactly that moment in time.  So, sometimes we get giddy cake smashers and sometimes we get “I’ll cry if I want to!” cake smashers.  LOL!  We just roll with it and let baby lead the session!  Here are a few of our favorites from her Los Angeles one year cake smash photography session!  xo, Jess

Yes! Our studio is fully stocked with hand-selected props, wraps, and outfits in soft, neutral tones.

When should I book a newborn session?

Most families book in their second trimester. We photograph babies within the first 8-17 days of life for the sleepiest poses. But if your baby has already arrived, always send an email because sometimes we have last-minute sessions!
