I could not get enough of this sweet boy! We had to work the schedule a bit to get him in here for his newborn session, as he needed some extra time to gain weight and get on track with his feeding. The way our schedule looked at the time though, meant that he would be coming in for his session at 20 days. TWENTY! This was definitely outside our ideal window of 5-14 days, but we had to make it work. I asked his parents to make sure and follow my pre-session prep (which they did to the T!), and well, you can see below how he did. PERFECT. A 20 day newborn session can look like this. BUT, it completely depends on the baby. They won’t all be this sleepy and easy, for sure, but you just never know. We have a good friend of ours that is a newborn photographer in the Midwest and she actually prefers her newborns a bit “older”, and another photographer friend that only takes them under 7 days. I still like to play the odds and aim for 5-14 days. But, sometimes we can push it a bit. 😉
