Take me back to this beautiful baby photo shoot! We loved meeting this awesome family, and their sweet little girl had us from the moment we met her! All that gorgeous hair and her cute button nose. We’ve had so many girls in the studio lately! This means that I’ve gotten to play with all kinds of fun set ups, props, headbands and colors. Over the years of offering professional newborn photography in Los Angeles, we have found that parents absolutely love that we provide everything for our infant photo sessions.

Just bring baby, we say! Photography props like baskets, crates, vintage bowls, buckets, etc. are all here and we have tons of them. We have curated an adorable collection of little hand knit hats, bonnets, floral headbands, swaddle wraps and sweet “lovies” for baby to cuddle. We also have a nice assortment of fabric colors for our bare baby poses, distressed barn wood backgrounds for our prop set ups and beautiful, neutral solid backdrops for our parent and sibling shots.

Mom and Dad decided to go with some bolder colors and we love it! When they arrived for their photo shoot we had a quite a few set ups ready to go and they immediately gravitated to the mustard yellow and purple tones.

Swoon! I have been wanting to use our mustard wrap and coordinating mustard fleece for awhile now and I just love how this look came together. So contemporary. Perfectly complimented with a dainty headband adorned with dried organic flowers. Look at her face! The lighting is just right. She is such an angel! When I look at this portrait I see such a happy, and oh so peaceful sleeping baby.

Of course we had to capture this aerial angle. It’s always a parent favorite. In the pre-session questionnaire, Mom mentioned she would love to get a shot using our wood baby bed prop. I got you, mama! The natural textures in this image are just beautiful!

Can you believe she flashed a smile right when Matt was capturing a macro shot of her lips? Talk about timing!

After we finished the wood bed set up, we switched swaddle wraps and backgrounds to this beautiful purple and grey look. This grey textured flokati rug serves as the backdrop, and is a perfect neutral to compliment so many looks. Here, the purple looks so beautiful on it, and this plum colored floral crown fits her perfectly. And can we talk about her cheeks here? Seriously, so adorable.

An infant portrait session with us is never complete without an artistic and unique eyelash macro shot. We insist on taking the time to capture these shots for parents so they can remember these tiny details of their baby forever.

Ten tiny toes! This shot never gets old and about 90% of parents choose this shot in their final gallery selections.

How cute is she on this smooth simple fabric? The soft knit wrap tucked over her and matching headband adds some beautiful texture. She looks so tiny all curled up with her little hand under her cheek. This image is just so beautiful and powerful in black and white.

This photo shoot was short and sweet! A perfect example of our “Mini Newborn Collection”. We designed this collection as an option for parents that don’t need a full newborn session with us. But still want to document this special time in their family’s life. Although it is a shorter session in terms of shooting time in the studio, we are usually able to accomplish one to two bare baby poses on a smooth fabric and one to two prop shots. Of course, we also include macro shots of baby’s tiny details.

Overall, we offer three different photo shoot options for parents to choose from: Mini, Classic and Deluxe. The Mini and Classic are designed for a session that focuses on just newborn baby. When parents would like to be included in the photography session or baby has a big brother or sister to include in sibling shots, then we move up to the Deluxe collection. Each collection includes a specific amount of digital files and a print/product credit that can be applied to any of the products we offer. Custom designed albums, barn wood frames, metal frames and hanging canvases are the most popular.

The best time for a newborn photo session with us about 7-14 days after birth. Most of the time parents book their session with us while they are still pregnant. However, sometimes we have last minute sessions available. So if your baby has already arrived and you are home from the hospital, reach out to us to inquire about last minute availability.
