The Sitting Up session! After our newborn photography sessions, our favorite session is called the “Sitting Up Milestone” session. age to photograph little ones is between 6-9 month olds. Why, you ask? Well, because you usually get LOTs of adorable expressions, BUT (and this is very important) they can’t move yet! 🙂 So we end up being able to capture all their cute faces in a few different set ups, but without having to chase them around the studio. For this session, we always want baby to be sitting up completely unassisted. For some babies this is right at six months, for others it can closer to seven, even eight, months. Some parents will inquire about a “Six Month Milestone” session, but the key is that they can sit confidently and hold themselves up completely on their own- not their exact six month mark. If baby is not able to do this, then we would prefer to wait on the session. We provide all props for our Sitting Up Milestone sessions- baskets, crates, blankets, rugs, etc.- we have quite a lot! We also provide all outfits too- we have a huge supply of adorable rompers, handmade outfits, hats, bonnets, headbands, etc. Parents do not need to bring anything at all to the session, actually!

This is such a precious 6 months session, she’s sitting up so well! The rompers and tutu are so cute, I’d love to have some of them for my baby girl’s photography session.
